Was on the national bus and what happened was that the megabus began moving forward and the national bus assumed he had moved forward but the megabus had to make a emergency brake because some idiot was rushing to cross and in this short time period of seconds the national driver was fidgeting with the heating controls and he brushed the side gull mirror and it broke off. We then had to wait half an hour for the national to get a local private coach and then we went to Cambridge. I asked the driver and he said the wing mirror is gonna cost about £900 pounds because national coaches are cheap bangas but yes on more executive coaches they are more expensive. Hope this clears the story

@@thepiggyprophetYes they can be difficult indeed! I had a Vanhool Alicron that was 13.9m on a two axel MAN chassis for a year. It was like driving a Boeing aircraft around streets with the wings missing. It was beyond a joke to drive. Every traffic light and junction I came to I could take up the middle, the entire right, to turn it left. And it would still turn straight into the railings or lamp posts no matter how much I tried to keep it away. Worst vehicle they ever gave me for private hire coach work.
@@thepiggyprophet It's not hard. overhanging front and rear end means shorter wheelbase. I drive coaches across the UK, and europe as well. Taken it through places where they shouldn't be going through, such as a BP fuel station that no large vehicle ever uses, but used with a tri-axle. The tall side means that seeing the side of the vehicle is easy through the mirrors and on tri-axles, these coaches normally have protruding lights at the very rear, and you will know that you are dangerously close to hitting that tailswing when the tailswing marker light bends (you can bend it with your hands easily and it go back to it's normal place after). Yes, they will be tricky if taken on unfamiliar roads that even a van would struggle through. But if in doubt, plan ahead and pull over beforehand if necessary to assess the route. As these vehicles are driven countless hours per week, it becomes easier to drive these vehicles. The turning circle is amazing in these vehicles as well as there is more space for the wheels to turn (and tri-axles have rear wheel steering).
